I am excited to announce that Jeffrey McDonough and I are organizing a graduate workshop on "Émilie Du Châtelet and Early Modern Philosophy" on the 4th of July at Heidelberg University with a call for abstracts! The details are as follows:
We are inviting submissions of abstracts for a Graduate Student and Early Career Workshop on Du Châtelet and Early Modern Philosophy. The workshop will take place in the Hegelsaal at Heidelberg University on Saturday, July 4 th, 2026. Presentations will be 30 minutes long, followed by 20 minutes Q&A. Presentations can be in English or German. The Q&A will be in English. Submission deadline is the 15th of June 2026. Please send an abstract of up to 600 words to clara.carus@uni-heidelberg.de. My habilitation has been accepted at Paderborn University. The final presentation will take place on the 16th of June, 2026! All are welcome to attend! My presentation and the discussion on Plato's late writings on being vs non-being will take place at 18:00.

I will be speaking at the conference Kurt Gödel's philosophical thought from his notebooks on 29-31 July 26 at the Berlin-Brandenburgische Akademie der Wissenschaften, organized by Prof. Alex Englert and Prof. Dr. Eva-Maria Engelen I will be giving the keynote address at the Graduate Conference Medicina mentis: The Problematic Nature of the Imperfect Mind at Boston College on the 27-28 March 26.
Professor Gonzalo Rodriguez-Pereyra and I are hosting and now organizing a conference on First Principles in Early Modern Metaphysics at Oriel College, University of Oxford on the 2nd and 3rd of October 2026. We're delighted to announce that our funding proposal was accepted by Oriel College!
Prof. Dr. Stephan Schmid and I are delighted to share the great news that the Fritz Thyssen Foundation approved our funding application for the conference Ex nihilio nihil fit and the Principle of Sufficient Reason - On the Metaphysics of Ground in the Middle Ages and the Early Modern Period. The conference will take place on the 16th and 17th of July, 2026.
